On Thursday, March 27, with technical assistance and support provided by the USAID-funded Resource Efficiency Achievement Project (REAP), the Energy Professionals’ Association (EPA) held an event to announce the launch of their new website: http://www.escocyprus.com/epa/index.aspx.
More than 40 participants, including local energy experts and specialists, Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), alternative energy dealers, architects and engineers attended the event. In addition to the announcement of their website, the event also celebrated the official registration of Energy Professionals’ Association as a civil society organization of the Turkish Cypriot Community.
EPA’s mission is to create a sustainable energy sector in the TCC, through a professional network, advocacy, and public education. President of EPA Ali Korakan and Kemal Elmas talked about the establishment and accomplishments, EPA committees, next steps and upcoming activities of EPA. Nuri Silay, Founding Member of Energy Professionals’ Association, gave a presentation on “Facebook Group Page Demonstration.” The event ended with a cocktail reception, where EPA members facilitated a round-table committee session to provide service for members and non-members on membership, communications, advocacy, sign-up for Earth Day Event and Website Administration.
Resource Efficiency Achievement Project (REAP) is dedicated to helping businesses become more profitable by increasing energy efficiency, enhancing environmental management, upgrading facility operations and improving equipment performance. REAP is funded by USAID and implemented by Core International. |
