Ambassador Urbancic opening the Picturing America exhibit at the University of Cyprus

The art exhibit, Picturing America, toured Cyprus in November and December. This collection of forty reproductions of American works not only showcased the United States' artistic heritage - our paintings, sculpture, architecture, fine crafts, and photography - but it also offered unique insights into the character, ideals, and aspirations of our country.

The exhibit traveled from Nicosia to Limassol and Famagusta and was on display at three universities and an art gallery. Receptions were held at each location, and the works remained for up to a week to allow as many people as possible to view the exhibit. It is our hope that everyone who saw the exhibit gained a deeper appreciation of our country's character and history through studying and understanding our art.
