November 20, 2007

the students received briefings from each of the Embassy sections about the work that they doOn November 20, over 30 American exchange students who are attending the University of Nicosia under the auspices of the Global Learning Semesters Program visited Embassy Nicosia. The students were welcomed by Ambassador Ronald Schlicher, who offered insight into the Cyprus issue, along with the goals of the Embassy. Afterwards, the students received briefings from each of the Embassy sections about the work that they do. After receiving this rare glimpse into the life of a U.S. foreign service officer, several of the students said afterwards that the visit will encourage them to sign up for the Foreign Service Exam.
