For the twelfth consecutive year, the Cyprus Fulbright Commission, host of the EducationUSA center in Cyprus, hosted a U.S. University Fair at the J.W. Fulbright Center in the UN-controlled Buffer Zone. Almost two dozen U.S. institutions were represented at the Fair by admissions officers and recruiters from the U.S., as well as local Cypriot alumni. Hundreds of students and parents from both the Turkish-Cypriot and Greek-Cypriot communities wandered through the fair and learned of the vast array of educational opportunities available in the United States.

The Cyprus Fulbright Commission staffed a booth at the fair with information about their year-round educational counseling services and offering handouts on standardized testing and scholarship opportunities. Members of the U.S. Embassy's Consular Section also set up a booth where U.S. diplomats and local staff members helped demystify the student visa application process to eager applicants.

Once again, the U.S. Embassy extended its full support to this year's U.S. University Fair. Ambassador Frank C. Urbancic greeted visitors and representatives at the fair, which was covered by CyBC state television, and Deputy Chief of Mission Jonathan Cohen also showed his school pride by staffing an information booth on behalf of his alma mater, Princeton University.
